OUR MINISTERS

Jeremy Kughn is a native of Alabama and a diehard Auburn fan.  He loves to fish, golf and play most sports.  Most importantly though, he loves to spend time with his family.  He is married to a beautiful young lady named Jennifer and they have two incredible children, Connor and Abbey Grace.  Jeremy firmly believes that anything is possible with God and that He is going to do awesome things with the Gateway Church.

Debbie joined the staff here at Gateway in February of 2001.  She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from David Lipscomb University and taught full time for twelve years.  She has always loved  teaching!   Being able to share Jesus with children is her joy. She coordinates the Bible classes and fellowship activities for the Nursery through Sixth Grade.  She is also the teacher for our children's church program which we call Bold Bible Kids, so named because we believe that "Kids can take bold action for what is right."  Children age three through Third Grade meet together to worship and praise God each Sunday morning through song, Bible stories, scripture memory and prayer.

Jim Caples serves as the Education and Young at Heart Minister.  Jim and his wife Arnid have lived in Pensacola since 1970 and have been members at West Hill and Gateway for nearly thirty eight years.  They came to this area in order for Jim to become Principal and Administrator at Escambia Christian School.   Jim has an A.A. in Bible from Florida Christian College and a B.S. and M.S. in education from Indiana State University.  He has also done extensive post-graduate work in Educational Leadership.  He served as a teacher and administrator at ECS and the public school system for thirty six years - retiring in January 2000 to become the part-time Education Minister at Gateway.  Jim has always enjoyed teaching and curriculum planning.  In recent years he has been writing material for some of the adult Bible classes and the small groups. Jim also preached (both full-time and part-time) for several years.  He has served as an Elder at Gateway since 1984.  Arnid worked for the Clerk of the County Court in Escambia County for 25 years -- retiring from that position eight years ago.  Since that time she has done volunteer work at Gateway in various areas - especially with the educational program.  In August of 2007 Jim also assumed the role of Seniors Minister at Gateway.  He has always enjoyed visiting members, and in this new role for him he tries even harder to stay in touch with the "Young @ Heart" group and to plan fellowship and service activities for them.

Ed and Stacy Humphries joined the Gateway Staff in August 2004.  Besides serving as the College and Young Professional Singles Minister, Ed directs the music program.  Stacy shares her talents as Gateway's Secretary.  Ed and Stacy met at Freed Hardeman University and have been involved in the ministry of God's children both together and individually for nearly fifteen years.  Their first real taste of spreading the message of Jesus was a joint mission trip to Nairobi, Kenya, East Africa in 1993.  Since then they have served both the church and the community in numerous ways, using the gifts that God has given them.  The majority of their ministry together has been involved with young people.  They have served teenagers in various churches in Florida, Tennessee, and Kentucky throughout the '90's.  Currently they minister to the young adults (college aged and young professional singles) here at Gateway.  Their focus has been to instill in the young adult group a spirit of service and ministry to the children of God all across Pensacola and the world.  This loving spirit has carried them into prisons, nursing homes, and to many homeless people across the city and even children's camps in Lithuania.  There are many more plans to reach those out in the community who are lost, cast out, or hurting. If you have a heart for God's people, then Ed and Stacy lovingly invite you to join them and the young adults here at Gateway on the journey!

Sean and Sheena White are both originally from Pensacola, and grew up here at Gateway.  They have both received their Bachelors Degree from Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN.  Sean's degree is in Psychology with a Bible minor, and Sheena's degree is in education.  Sheena is currently and elementary school teacher.  Both Sean and Sheena bring a great deal of energy and passion to Gateway's youth ministry.  As they lead our youth they strive to bring teens and their families into a closer relationship with Christ.
