Greater love has no-one than this. That a man will lay down his life for his friends. Such a romantic phrase we have pondered on forever. However, could we have missed the connection for what Jesus is talking about? The thought doesn't end there for Jesus. In fact, he continues to discuss what fruit bearing means to the kingdom. Death plays a part in it.
We say it all the time. For the world, the extra mile is called "paying it forward". That's not really the case as Jesus taught it. To pay if forward means that you extend a good deed for one you have received. There's nothing wrong with that, but for the Christian, our job is to go the extra mile regardless of whether or not we have received anything. As a matter of fact, Jesus told us to even go the extra mile for those who might have just persecuted us. Join us in the journey of the extra mile.
Fight for something! We will spend time in today's lesson explaining how fighting for God is not only a good idea, but a requirement.
Realism is a form of art that's solid aim is to paint or build art in as much realistic detail as possible. Why then, when it comes to evangelism, does it seem to be so foreign to us? What if it is way easier then we make it out to be?
While you might feel you play no role in the grand scheme of things, take a lesson from the hand of an artist who practices impressionism. You might learn to change your perspective.
Evangelism is possible! It is not a lost art, but it exists in the very opportunities that your life gives you. Embrace opportunities and share the good news of Jesus with others!
Each of our histories tells a story about who we are and who we've become. It is important to understand, repent, and heal in some cases when moving forward in life. James 1 declares that anyone who reads the Bible and does not put it into practice is like a man who looks at his own reflection and goes away forgetting what he looks like. Our spiritual reflection is the same. Join us in this lesson as Jeremy leads us toward a strong look in the mirror.
This Thanksgiving we want to note just how important it is to live a life of Thankfulness. What if we treated our opportunities to live like Jesus as if it were Black Friday? Join us and discover your mission.
